 Kidnapping Rule (Suggestion)

PostSubject: Kidnapping Rule (Suggestion)   Sun Dec 14, 2014 6:21 pm

You must have a valid RP reason to Kidnap.

Some of the acceptable reasons to Kidnap players:

Raiding a base.
Defending a friend/ally.
A player has stolen something from you (Weapons, vehicles, etc.).
Is a Deserter.

You may only hold someone at ransom for 1k of each resource max.

You may kill the person after a warning and they are still non-compliant after 5 seconds after said warning.

Or just keep it outlawed overall, so people don't try to twist it this way and that.

If this ever actually became a thing, then there should definitely be a time limit on how long you can kidnap someone for.

How bout we keep this outlawed because people will twist and exploit it to no end, because i know people would just abuse the hell outta it if it were implemented.

if kidnapping become possible it must stick with a war
you can only kidnap someone in war with you, not a raider, cheater
because if some powerful faction kidnap just normal person who will rescue him? even they are faction, what if they are weak? i dont think a random kidnap would make a good rp

same idea as with mugging, kidnapping could easily make everyone afraid of everyone and nobody safe. I agree with most of the people in this post

Now just cutting kidnapping from the "ok" to do list of RP actions doesn't seem right.
Example Nightmare (from my understanding) was hired to get info from people by kidnapping them and interrogating them till they cracked.

I feel that Kidnapping in some cases is good for RP and is sometimes even needed in RP, if we say its banned we will lose it as a part of our good RP moments. we just need to regulate it is all so it isn't abused to just kill people.

It really depends on who'se getting kidnapped when it comes to rescue missions. If one of my Congressmen or Military Officers were kidnapped, I send troops to take out whoever did it, war or not.

I got kidnapped once, by Validtarget. I was held for a good 30 minutes, and died on multiple occasions but was forced back since the deaths weren't apparently "RP-related" deaths even though mostly it was one of his henchmen punching me to death. It eventually resulted in the destruction of a community and my departure for an entire year. Please do not let this happen again.

Meh, the only real kidnapping I'd personally allow is if two factions are at war. Because they could've just killed him anyways.

No no no, heres how it should work:
Raiders could kidnap the Raidees, but very specific boring tl;dr rules about it
People at war could 'capture' diplomats/important people and hold for ransom (This is what would happen in real life, isn't it??)
I think it could be a good roleplay thing, but, people will find loopholes and just do it to be assholes.
