Now before you say this is outrageous, read this first and than make your choice.

So in Resurgence Bizzclaw has stated that different factions will rule different areas, like the NCR ruling the starting area, etc etc. But I would like to say why not have The strip be functional? Since Resurgence is supposedly a failing timeline, we can rule out Mr. House, and any remaining Securitrons were re-coded by NCR engineers as well as volunteers from the wasteland. These re-coded Securitrons were controlled by the NCR, not like Mr. House. An example would be Yes Man. The NCR would control the areas, and the casinos that are located there are mainly controlled by the NCR, with the dealers being NCR employed. The main currency would be caps, which could be used to be from in game merchants (or maybe new vendors, as I don't really think you are gonna buy a hardplate will silicon and a rusty nail.) or NCR issued dollars so they can extremely tax everyone make a working system in the wasteland. Now before you say "YOU CANT GAMBLE IN GMOD THAT WOULD TAKE A YEAR TO CODE." There are already systems for NPCS that allow you to play Blackjack and other casino games. But, I probably am not correct but if Bizzclaw had permission to copy the code from said NPCS and with a bit of editing (or a lot) of the code and a model change, it can be a friendly Fallout themed working gambling system! This is just a suggestion, and I don't believe it will be looked at, but if someone better than me described it, it would probably sound better, so let me sum it up for you.

Edited code from other systems and model changes in order to make a Fallout friendly gambling system.

I have absolutely no clue where you got any of this information from, but Resurgence is gonna take place around Fallout 1/2 lorewise

so wait, Bizz wasn't being serious in the post he put in the development forums?

Bizzclaw wrote:
The main point of resurgence is that it will administrate itself. A reputation system and NPCs will govern how players play in areas. Using the New California Republic, or NCR, as an example, the beginner/noob map will be controlled by the NCR and players that start out in this area will start with a slightly positive relationship with the NCR, however, players who attempt to take advantage of new players by attempting to kill them will be gunned down by the NCR soldiers and gain a bad reputation with the NCR while their victim is healed and suffers no death penalties. This bad reputation will prevent the player from spawning in NCR Controlled territory, and unable to easily progress through NCR Checkpoints. Players will of course be able to chose to spawn in a more lawless part of the wastes if they chose, but the NCR controlled areas will provide a good place for new players to learn the gamemode without the threat of death from players. This will eliminate the need to moderate Player vs Player interactions, and allow staff members to focus more on being story tellers in the gamemode as opposed to dealing with constant petty matters of player death, thus eliminating all RDM rules

Edit: My bad, I forgot the NCR was around and the strip wasn't. But if we ever use lazarous it could possibly be integrated? And I cannot find an exact date, but I'm pretty sure the strip was a thing closely after or before the events of Fallout 2.

The Strip was the home of many warring groups/gangs/tribals before Mr. House woke up and rehabilitated the top three best at following orders (The Omertas, The Chairmen, and The White Glove [I don't actually know if this is what the Ultra Luxe guys used to be called]) in the mid 2270's, long after Fallout 1/2 (2180's/2240's)

It was basically just as lawless as the rest of the wasteland; run down, no order, no electricity. Nothing special but tall buildings and a locked up spire.

NCR didn't start expanding east until the mid 2270's

(sorry for taking long to reply)

Well my mistake then, but still it could possibly be iterated in some shape or form.

I would like to do something like this, but it probably wouldn't be until after the game is running. Firstly, I don't even know how most gambling games work as I'm not a gambler. They are very complex games and it would take a lot of time to learn, script, and balance these minigames seeing as how for resurgence, I don't want to use anyone elses code anywhere.

I might add something simple to start, such as slot machines.

As for -Where- this gambling takes place, well even if the strip isn't usable, there's always New Reno. Of course, I'd have to either add it to a map or find an existing map that could serve as New Reno.
