Well, since wiremod was removed, it means we have no lights at this moment. If the wiremod was removed because people were spamming lights everywhere, I have a suggestion for that (although just thinking about this again, I have no idea if it is even possible). My suggestion is that you have to craft lights, and that lights require electricity. Also, maybe place a restriction on lights, like if it is past the certain amount of brightness, and stuff like that, so that people don't place a light with 100000000 brightness in a tiny little shack.

Just an little side note to this, instead of having those "round light" props. Wouldn't it be possible to make some kind of "flood light kit" of somewhat? To act as "light" and is more "RP" friendly, and make these lamps or whatever name they are going under come in different models such as the vending machine =)

Projected lights are too performance heavy, especially considering that everyone and their uncle will be using these things to light up their places. Even the normal lights are expensive to the client's frames, so I'm trying to work out a system that automatically hides lights when you're a certain distance from them, if you don't have line of sight to them are they aren't in your line of sight, ect.
I'll also have to limit the amount of lights you can have in an area or in general.

Man, this would be so much easier if mappers actually properly lit their buildings.

Lamps should be craftable tools available to players since they actually work all the time unlike buggy wirelights.
