 Vehicle Update

Vehicles have been update with a few new limitations.

The main thing is that you can no longer deploy or store vehicles unless you are near a town or spawn.

In case your vehicle breaks down away from spawn, you can repair it with the "vehicle repair tool" which has been added as an Engineer craftable.

Right now the repair tool is a bit wonky, but it works for now.

A note on water

For now, if you drive your car into water there is no way to retrieve it. I'll be adding a method to retrieve submerged vehicles in the future, but until then call an admin or rejoin the server.

A new button has been added (or rather, re-added for those of you who remember).

can only be used in spawn or in a town, and it won't work on occupied vehicles.

Isn't this gonna be really problematic for events and such?

Perhaps make it so admins/superadmins can place down a "node" or something that allows players to place down their cars and etc without being close to town/spawn.

Or if you want to make some resource sink.

Add a new craftable & placeable "node" kinda thing which players can place down and they have to be within a certain radius to place down their cars, instead of just limiting it to spawns and towns etc, this would make it so people could create their own towns but they dont have to run over to the actual "towns" to spawn their cars.

This really great that you added all these functions for just our own cars on the server! All ya'll engineers are gonna make money! Next thing you know there's going to be Fallout Decay clan called the, Grease Monkeys, tinkering on our broken cars!

Just in case you missed the tiny title of my message, thanks for the update Bizzclaw and others who helped! Seeing operational tow trucks within the server would be great! As the server stands though, your update will strengthen the economic diversity along with many more RP roles within the server!

I have a problem with this. people who base always have their cars in their base so they can access it, now this is going to be made impossible. the repair tool is a nice addition, but the limitation to spawn cars is absolutely abhorrent, but that's just my dumbass unwanted opinion

having good rp doesnt make one fit for staff duties, especially if said people are always playing with the same small group of people and no one else. staying in an echo chamber only makes your own words reflected back to you and whoever else is in the chamber. people applying for staff need to not only know the staff, but also how the playerbase can react to interactions between itself, the general staff base and the applicant

agreed

but joseph was also asking for some sort of node that can be crafted that players can place down so people could drop their car around it if they were to make their own town, which could also be used for bases.

Well to be frank for you guys out there, give Bizzclaw a break. What Bizzclaw invests in server is something that he put his own time into developing. If it wasn't for Bizzclaw, Resurgence wouldn't even be a thing, let alone any sort of development for Fallout Decay. Perhaps if you wish to share your ideas of how the Fallout Decay server is changing, at least share constructive criticism, chill the ol' opinion machine. Thanksgiving is around the corner, lets be thankful ya'll!

Sure the player community is being very harsh on this update and it may seem to be rude, but this update is honestly killing car usage and promotes the use of lockers and raiding which most players are not fond of.

The Update was pushed to address the issue of player vehicle abuse.
Even though it's against the rules to drop cars during NPC events and raids, players keep doing it, and enforcing it was becoming impossible. So, instead of trying to enforce an unenforceable rule, a gameplay mechanic was built to address the issue.

I understand it might seem like an arbitrary limitation, but it's necessary in order to keep the server fair and playable.

I'm open to suggestions of improvements for the system and I understand that there are still some maps where this will be problematic and I'm ready to respond too, and address those issues.
