So we've been experimenting with some lock pick mini games recently, we have put one on the server and tried it for the day, then we replaced it with a different system. What this thread is for is trying to find out which one you guys like more. The timing puzzle where you have to get all the tumblers above the line, or the memory puzzle where you must find the correct combination to raise the tumblers?

Falling timed tumblers

Pretty simple, get all of the falling tumblers over the white line at once.

Combination tumblers.

You must push up the tumblers in the correct order, finding it by trial and error.

Please don't just say the combination one is better because it looks nicer. I actually got hired to make a better vgui by the maker of the falling timed tumblers. This is my current progress:

For the nostalgia feel and realism, i pick the second option because it feels the most closer to reality

having good rp doesnt make one fit for staff duties, especially if said people are always playing with the same small group of people and no one else. staying in an echo chamber only makes your own words reflected back to you and whoever else is in the chamber. people applying for staff need to not only know the staff, but also how the playerbase can react to interactions between itself, the general staff base and the applicant

I like the combination one better, if all you have to do for the first one is just rapidly move the things up, it would make lockpicking too easy and you could do it in like under 10 seconds per door.

Using the current system I can be in a door in under 5 seconds. (I timed it.)

The combination locks remind me of the original Splinter Cell games... god, the memories.

RIP in peace Tom Clancy.

I like the simpler one if you dont have a guide, and the guessing one if you want more Rp-frindly shit, though it may become a hassle for people

Well I finished making the GUI for the simpler lockpick system. It hasn't been implemented into the code yet as of this post, but here's what it looks like:

I still like the combination lock. I'm absolutely not a fan of the current lockpicking system. That's just my opinion, though.

Okay people, stop saying "current system" You realize the current system on the server is the combination right? Alaska you just said "I like the combination lock. I'm absolutely not a fan of the combination system" I AM CONFUZZ !_!

Also I hope you're not dissing my graphic design. ;~;

Well, it would be nice if someone would actually tell me when stuff gets updated.... >.> I've been avoiding lockpicking for that reason.

And no, I'm not dissing your design! Just the way the other lockpick system was laid out. I didn't like spam clicking until you opened the door. It was just annoying:/
